Awkwafina
Awkwafina was an American performer and actress. She began by releasing hilarious, intelligently composed music that tackled questions of racial identity as well as sexuality. Later, she broadened her audience to Hollywood. Nora Lum, born in Forest Hills Queens to Chinese and Korean immigrants was her very first musical experience. She performed on the trumpet. Also, she received Jazz and classical training before delving into hip-hop as a teenager. When she was in the college years, she remained focused on her studies, and then took up a degree in women's studies and journalism. For a brief period during her time in Beijing, Mandarin language classes were offered as well. After graduating, it wasn't until that she turned her attention to music. My Vag, her track My Vag which was her response to Mickey Avalons My Dick, became a popular viral sensation via the Internet and was later featured on her first LP Yellow Ranger. The other viral hit songs included queef track and the eye-catching NYC Bitchethe hometown tour for $. The track that was second on the album linked to Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide published in 2015, which was another project. Her resume contained both an author and musician. Now she was looking to expand her career into acting. Alongside early TV shows such as Girl Code and Tawk she appeared in films such as Neighbors 2. Storks and Bad Rap. In 2018 she landed breakthrough roles in a handful of high-profile films like Dude Ocean's 8, and Crazy Rich Asians. The EP was released in June.
